Competition Format for EMMA SG

		There are two competitions to discuss about – Sound Quality and DVD Quality. Sound Quality We’ll give a breakdown of the competition here. How do we define sound quality (SQ)? Well, for a first, the EMMA competition CD will be used for all SQ categories. In this year’s competition, we made standards even higher as we added categories with a budget limit. This allows systems which are very affordable and yet within competition standards to participate. This brings more variety and fairness for all competitors. Below are the categories as mentioned: Experience 3ch (Below 4K) In this category only people who are customers or not affiliated to this industry can compete, and the system must not be over 4K (Budget will be based on the RRP of the official agents or distributors in Singapore on the source unit, speakers, sub-woofers and amplifiers only. No external processor is allowed) Advance 5ch (Below 8K) In this category anyone can play but the system must not be over 8K (Budget will be based on the RRP of the official agents or distributors in Singapore on the source unit, external processor, speakers, sub-woofers and amplifiers only) Advanced 7ch (Unlimited) In this category anyone can play and there are no limits in budget. ESQL (Unlimited) Emma-Sound-Quality-Loud is the meaning of ESQL. In this category judges will stand 4 meters away from the rear of the car and judge only the tonal accuracy of the SQ scoresheet. Competitors will be competing on having the best SQ in an open space, so it will be music in the air for all! DVD Quality – DVD Multimedia In addition to these categories, EMMA is also the first competition that has rules and regulations for our own DVD competition software. The goal of this competition - to find the perfect (or near perfect) mobile car theatre that is equipped with a 2.0 and 5.1 channel system. Our DVD competition disc not only works as competition software but also a tool for a home theatre system to tune visual panels to perfection. The categories for this competition is as follows: Experience 2.0 (Below 5K) This category is only for people who are not affiliated in this industry and with a budget of 5K below. (Budget will be based on source unit, speakers, sub-woofers and amplifiers only with no external and 5.1ch processor allowed) Advance 5.1ch (Unlimited) This category is open for everyone with no budget limits (6.1ch processors are not allowed) Pioneer 5.1ch Advance (Rules are to be advised) EMMA @ Work (Organised for the first time in South East Asia) In this segment our 3 sets of competitors (3 persons per group) will be tested on their overall experience. All 3 teams will be installing the same cars with the same equipments using similar sets of tools. Installation judging will be based on pictures taken on cameras. A full EMMA competition car will be built within 8hrs on the venue; onlookers can observe the skills of the installers and the process of how a competition car can be built in record time.
